Congratulations to SHO Staff member Spencer Boyer for taking a nice bird in Middle TN. It is not easy working these public land birds! You've got to have something setting you apart from every other hunter that has called at these birds with the same exact calls, in the same exact cadence/tone, and from the same location. These birds get smart quick on these WMA's, so you need products like Derby City's "Ol Nasty" to give you that raspy sound that sets you apart from everyone else and even when you get 'em to work you, they come in skiddish and often hang-up like this 2yr old did. That's where you need a good quality choke combined with the right shell in the chamber to roll that nervous Tom that just won't commit all the way.
